    In the town of Burhanpur there is a unique system of water supply. This is known as the ‘Khooni Bhandara’. It’s unique in the sense that the water runs in the covered channels about four kilometres, without any help of electricity or any other modern invention. This whole system includes a pond, underground channels and some chambers. These four metre deep underground channels are made of marble. After each hundred metres there is a chamber known as ‘Kundi’. Here the underground running water can be taken out with the help of a bucket tied to a rope. This natural water is so pure, cold, and clean that it is used as drinking water. This natural and unique system was built in the 17th century by the Mughals.
